A dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect address rather than your destination. Scanning it loads that short address, which looks up where the code currently points and forwards the visitor there. The printed pattern is an ordinary QR symbol either way — it follows the published symbology standard, ISO/IEC 18004, so any phone camera reads it without an app.
Because the destination lives on a server instead of in the printed squares, you can change it whenever you like — and every code already printed follows the change. A static QR code has the destination baked into the pattern, so changing it means a new code and a new print run. That one difference is why dynamic QR codes can be tracked, scheduled, password-protected, and switched off.

Set these up for office asset tags and equipment user manuals around our warehouse. Technicians scan the label directly on the machinery to pull up the latest PDF manuals. Simple, fast setup and does what it says on the tin. A bulk URL update via CSV would be a great addition down the line, but for day-to-day manual code updates, it works great.
Recommended this to three of my branding clients who needed vector SVG exports for physical print collateral. Most QR platforms slap giant watermarks or hold high-res vector files behind absurd monthly plans.
