6 ways to deploy QR codes

Each use case is solved by a different QR type — all available free on D-QR.

Per-placement attribution

A separate code for each poster site, magazine, and mailer turns one campaign total into a ranked list of what worked.

URL QR

A/B split testing

Send half of scans from one physical code to each of two landing pages, and compare conversion with the creative held constant.

Smart QR

Geofenced destinations

Route scans by country or region to localised pages, regional stock, or the nearest store.

Smart QR

Retargeting pixels

Fire a Meta or Google pixel on scan so people who engaged with your print campaign enter your remarketing audiences.

Smart QR

GA4 integration

Pass UTM parameters and Google Analytics 4 events through the redirect so print appears in the same reports as everything else.

Smart QR

Scheduled campaigns

Set a code to resolve to the launch page during the campaign window and to an evergreen page after it closes.

Questions people ask

Straight answers to what usually decides whether this is the right tool for the job.

How do I attribute conversions to a specific print placement?
Create one code per placement and give each a distinct UTM-tagged destination. The scan count tells you reach at the code level; the UTM tags carry that identity into your analytics so conversions land against the right placement.
Can I A/B test with a QR code that is already printed?
Yes. An A/B split sends a set proportion of scans to each destination, so the same physical code tests two landing pages. It is a cleaner test than most digital ones because the creative reaching the audience is identical.
What is the realistic scan rate on a print campaign?
It varies far too much by placement to quote a benchmark honestly — a table card in a restaurant and a billboard on a motorway are not the same medium. Measure your own baseline over a fortnight and compare placements against each other rather than against an industry figure.
Can QR scans feed my retargeting audiences?
Yes. Retargeting pixels fire on the redirect, so someone who scans a poster can be added to a Meta or Google audience. Disclose it in your privacy notice, as you would for any pixel.
What happens to codes when the campaign ends?
Repoint them rather than letting them die. Material stays in circulation long after a campaign closes, and a scheduled rule can move those scans to an evergreen page automatically on the end date.
