QR Codes for Real Estate

QR Codes for Real Estate

A yard sign gets seen by people standing outside a house at seven in the evening. A QR code is how you capture them before they drive away.

6 ways to deploy QR codes

Each use case is solved by a different QR type — all available free on D-QR.

For-sale and yard signs

A code on the sign board opens the full listing with photos, floor plan, and price — no searching, no typing an address into a phone.

URL QR

Virtual tours

Send passers-by straight into the 3D walkthrough, which is the single strongest thing you can put in front of someone standing on the pavement.

URL QR

Brochures and floor plans

Replace the printed pack at an open house with a code that always opens the current document, including the price after a reduction.

Agent contact card

A vCard code on the window card saves your name, mobile, and email into the buyer’s phone in one tap.

vCard QR

Multi-property link page

One code on a window display leading to every listing you currently hold, updated as stock turns over.

Questions people ask

Straight answers to what usually decides whether this is the right tool for the job.

What should a yard sign QR code link to?
The listing page with photos and price, or the virtual tour if you have one. Avoid pointing it at your agency homepage — a buyer standing outside a specific house wants that house, and a homepage makes them search for it.
How big should the code be on a for-sale sign?
Scale to viewing distance: roughly one tenth of the distance the code is scanned from. Someone standing 2 m from the board needs about 20 cm square. Place it low enough to reach from the pavement, not at the top of a post.
What happens to the code after the property sells?
Repoint it at your current listings or at a "recently sold in this area" page. A dynamic code means the sign is a reusable asset instead of waste.
Can I tell which properties are getting scanned?
Yes, if you use one code per property. Scan counts, times, and device types are recorded per code, which quickly shows which streets and which price bands are drawing attention.
Will the code work in rain or low light?
Codes survive weather better than they survive glare. Use a matte laminate rather than gloss, keep strong contrast — dark pattern on white, not brand colour on brand colour — and check it after dark with a phone torch on.
